What is P-Tox 100 used for?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is defined as the inability to create and maintain an erection suitable for intercourse. This is a massive global concern with an estimated 1/3 of a billion men worldwide suffering from this condition.
Early signs of ED can occur in men in their mid 30s to late 40s, when they start to notice that both morning erections and sexual activity instigated erections are not as hard and or as frequent. It is estimated that over 50% of men over 55 will experience some degree of erectile dysfunction.
Erectile Dysfunction often goes untreated due to a perceived sense of shame and/or feelings of embarrassment that men may feel when they start to lose the strength and stamina of erections. Not treating ED can lead to decreased use of the penis – and with that – comes less regular blood flow into the penile tissue. Therefore, it becomes a negative feedback loop, whereby the less the penis is used and the vessels are expanded and ‘flushed out’ – the more contracted the penile vessels become… The maxim of “use it or lose it” is very true of penile health and maintenance of erectile function.
Pavilion Cosmetic Medicine’s unique P-Tox 100 regime, depending on your individualised treatment plan, may incorporate pharmacological agents (oral and/or injectable), with the PRP P-Shot –PLUS– Botulinum Toxin Type A injections –PLUS– Low Intensity Shock Wave Lithotripsy; performed as a three monthly treatment plan that is uniquely tailored to each individual patient after a Doctor consultation with one of our physicians who offer this medical service. This combination treatment regime for treating symptoms of ED aims to significantly improve resting penile tone, increases resting penile blood supply and also improves the quality and duration of erections – as well as improving resting penile appearance and sensitivity. The overall objective is to use the ‘P-Tox 100’ regime delivered at intervals over a three month period to:
- Improve sexual function
- Improve penile dimensions
- Improve penile sensitivity and orgasm quality
Depending on one’s individual goals, treatment may be conducted in combination with Pavilion Enlargement Procedure (PEP).

How it works?
Platelet Rich Plasma – PRP
Dr Gavin Scriven and Dr Jeremy Cumpston have extensive experience with PRP treatments to the face, neck and body.
Dr Jeremy Cumpston was one of the first cosmetic physicians in Australia to introduce PRP treatment in 2008. This is some three years before the infamous Kim Kardashian ‘vampire facial’. Both Dr Jeremy Cumpston and Pavilion Cosmetic Medicine’s medical director, Dr Gavin Scriven (a.k.a ‘Dr Gav’), have been using PRP injections into the corpus cavernous of the penis for over 5 years.
Platelet Rich Plasma utilises the growth factors on the surface of platelets which stimulate multi-potentate stem cells in the penis to differentiate and regenerate neurovascular tissue – thereby increasing blood supply (angiogenesis) and penile function (improved hardness of erections).
Evidence of the effectiveness of PRP injections into the penis alone can be found this randomised controlled trial published in May 2023 (see reference above).
Low Intensity Shock Wave Lithotripsy
Low-intensity Shockwave Therapy (LiSWT) uses acoustic waves to stimulate angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) and to improve blood flow in the penis. LiSWT works by inducing microtrauma to the penile tissue, which then stimulates the release of angiogenic factors, leading to the formation of new blood vessels and improved blood flow to the penis.
Randomised control studies including a study published in European Urology have demonstrated significant improvements in erectile function in men with vasculogenic ED. Furthermore, systematic reviews and meta-analysis has evidenced that LiSWT significantly improves under the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) scores in men with ED, suggesting an improvement in erectile function following treatment [Reference: European Urology Atzichristou Volume 71, Issue 2 pp. 223–236 (February 2017)].
Dr Jeremy Cumpston (pictured here) was one of the first doctors in Australia to introduce LiSWT, back in 2011; after he travelled to Israel to be trained on use of the Renova LiSWT device.
The Pavilion Cosmetic Medicine ‘P-Tox 100’: An Innovative Treatment for Male Sexual Health
The P-Tox 100 when combined with the other modalities, aims to improve symptoms of erectile dysfunction (ED), by:
- Utilising PRP to stimulate angiogenesis (new vessel formation) in the penile tissue, while simultaneously;
- Relaxing the smooth muscle within the small arteries (arterioles) of the penis to increase the resting tone and volume (size) of the non-erect (flaccid) penis.
- The relaxation of arterioles by the Botulinum Toxin Type A and PRP injection also improves the arterial response to stimulus to create more regular and harder erections. This ultimately has the potential to restore sexual confidence and reduce ‘performance anxiety’ which can lead to avoidance of sexual intimacy.
The combination of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) with 50 to 100 units of Botulinum Toxin Type A is an innovative blend of therapies that combines the benefits of therapeutic Botulinum Toxin Type A with the Neovascularisation benefits of PRP to achieve penile enhancement and improved erectile function.
Erectile dysfunction is influenced by the parasympathetic nervous system’s ability to relax muscles and facilitate blood flow to the penis. P-Tox 100 has a neuro-modulator type action in that it is thought to relax smooth muscle in the walls of penile arterioles, thus causing relaxation of the vessels and improved resting arteriolar blood flow within the penis.
The resultant relaxation of penile tissue and enhancement of blood flow supports the regeneration of nerve and blood vessels. This increases oxygenation of penile tissue and helps maintain penile health and prevent vascular damage whilst also providing harder and more responsive erections.
This approach not only addresses the symptoms of ED but also targets its root causes by improving arterial health and penile tissue quality.
What to expect
Procedure and Benefits
The procedure is minimally invasive and involves the injection of Botulinum Toxin type A into the penile tissue, followed by optional penis pumping to augment results. Benefits reported include increased penile length and girth, improved sexual function, and enhanced self-esteem.
The P-Tox treatment regime may be considered as a potential solution for those seeking alternatives to traditional ED medications or surgeries, with results visible within a week and lasting approximately six months.
Dr Jeremy Cumpston and Dr Gavin Scriven have extensive subspecialty experience in treating men’s health issues relating to Erectile Dysfunction and have been innovators in the use of PRP/ Botulinum Toxin Injections and LiSWT in Australia since 2008.
Doctor Consultation and treatment process
All patients are provided with multiple questionnaires to assess confidence in sexual function, assess level of erectile dysfunction prior to 30 minute in-person or tele-health consultation with our men’s health doctors Dr Jeremy Cumpston and Dr Gavin Scriven to assess appropriateness of treatment.
Patients who are suitable will then commence a three month treatment process that combines initial P-Tox 100 injections followed up by regular LiSWT and monthly plain PRP injections.
Patients will be assessed using repeat questionnaires to assess improvement over the treatment period and followed up at 6 month and 12 month intervals.
Downtime and recovery
There is no downtime or any time off work required and you can drive home straight after your procedure. We do however advise patients to refrain from sexuality activity for 3 days and follow our post-care instructions carefully.
Frequently asked questions
Are there any side effects?
As PRP uses your body’s own resources, P-Shot treatment poses no risk of allergic reaction, sensitivity or other complication when extracted and re-injected under sterile medical conditions. Any side effects are typically minor and may include bleeding, bruising, swelling and, very rarely infection.
Patients who have tried the PRP procedures have reported no lasting side effects and are generally very pleased with the results.
Treatment can also be combined with the Pavilion Penis Enlargement Procedure (PEP).
