Pavilion Cosmetic Medicine is now Contour Clinics

Our Tailored Procedures

There’s no escaping the fact that over time the effects of ageing, sun damage and the everyday stresses of life appear on your face. Lines and wrinkles may appear around your eyes and mouth, your cheek and jawline may start to sag, and fat deposits that were once full and firm become depleted, leaving hollow and sunken areas of your face.

Advancements in non-surgical anti-ageing procedures now means it is possible to help combat these signs of ageing – without the risks, costs and downtime associated with facial surgery.

The modern approach to cosmetic enhancement involves tailoring a procedure or combination of procedures to each patient’s individual requirements and goals. At Pavilion Cosmetic Medicine, we offer a comprehensive range of non-surgical treatments to target all areas of the ageing face, including our liquid facelift.

Using a combination of cosmetic injectables, including wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers, a liquid facelift helps restore facial volume to where it’s needed, provide a subtle lifting effect to sagging skin, and reduce wrinkles and folds. For the right candidate, it can achieve remarkable facial rejuvenation results with no surgery and minimal, if any, downtime.

By offering a full menu of cosmetic injectables, our experienced practitioners are able to tailor a treatment plan for your unique needs and wants.

What is a liquid facelift?

A liquid facelift is a non-surgical procedure to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and sagging and make your skin look more plump and youthful. It is a versatile, comprehensive and highly customisable procedure that involves a specific combination of injectable treatments in precisely targeted areas.

A liquid facelift is all-encompassing – it works by treating and improving multiple aspects of the ageing face, not just one area in isolation, for truly harmonious results. It is commonly performed to rejuvenate the brow and forehead, eyes, cheeks, mid-face including nasolabial and marionette lines, lower face and jawline.

Wrinkle relaxers are used to treat frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) and the worry lines across the forehead, as well as crow’s feet around the eyes. In addition, it can be used to produce the effect of a brow lift by relaxing the muscles that drag down the brow.

Dermal fillers are a key component of a non-surgical liquid facelift. As each type of dermal filler treats a certain area of the face, such as the cheeks, lips, chin, tear troughs or jawline, usually multiple fillers will be used. Our injectors have a thorough understanding of how each filler works and are highly skilled in advanced injection techniques.  During your doctor consultation we will advise on the type of fillers that are best suited for your unique requirements and the specific areas of injection.

Results

Performed by an experienced injector with intricate knowledge of facial anatomy and function, a liquid facelift can achieve beautiful, natural-looking results – whether you’re looking to address mild wrinkling and replace lost volume, or a more dramatic result to rejuvenate and refresh a tired or aged appearance.

Both dermal fillers and muscle relaxants work synergistically to give you a visibly long-lasting improvement.

Liquid facelift results can last up to 2 years, depending on the degree of correction and the amount and type of dermal filler material.

Not all cosmetic injectables last equally – wrinkle relaxers will typically last in the range of 3-5 months. Fillers used more superficially or in highly mobile areas, such as around the mouth and lips, will tend to fade after around from the 6 month mark. More cohesive fillers injected more deeply such as those used to augment the cheek or chin, can last as long as 12 months to 18 months.

Many of our liquid facelift patients schedule touch-up treatments throughout the year to prolong their results.

What to expect

Your Treatment Experience

Your liquid facelift will start with a consultation with one of our experienced cosmetic practitioners, who will carefully assess your face, listen to your concerns and aesthetics goals, and deliver you a customised treatment plan.

Before starting, your practitioner will apply a topical anesthetic cream to your face. This is left on for 30 minutes to numb the treatment areas and ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.

For wrinkle relaxing treatment, several injections are administered into specific muscles of the brow and eye region just under the skin using a very fine needle.

For dermal fillers, each injection takes just a few minutes and may target areas such as deflated cheeks, hollowed temples, tear troughs, nasolabial and marionette lines around the nose and mouth, and sagging jawline.

Depending on the amount of injections and areas of the face to be treated, a liquid facelift can take 30-60 minutes and is performed in-clinic at Pavilion Cosmetic Medicine.

You may choose to have all of your injections in one visit, or spread out over several visits.

There is typically no downtime after a liquid facelift, and no time off work is required, however you can expect redness, swelling and bruising which should disappear after 2-5 days.

If you have a big event coming up, we recommend you have your liquid facelift at least 5 days beforehand to ensure any residual bruising and swelling has fully resolved.

Am I a good candidate?

A liquid facelift can achieve impressive results for those concerned with overall fine lines and wrinkles, loss or descent of facial volume, and some degree of skin laxity. It is not suitable for those with more extensive sagging or loose skin. It’s important to be aware of the limitations of a non-surgical procedure – if you’re after a more dramatic lifting and sculpting result, thread lifting or facial surgery may be a better option. During your consultation, we take the time to thoroughly assess your face and degree of ageing and advise whether a liquid facelift will best align with your expected outcomes.

How long will a liquid facelift last?

Results can last up to 2 years. Some areas will naturally dissolve the filler more quickly than others; if lip filler is used, it will typically last around 6 months, while cheek filler will last much longer, up to 18 months in some cases.

The results of wrinkle-relaxing injections normally wear off after 3-5 months, but top-up maintenance treatments can be scheduled to prolong the liquid facelift results.

What is the downtime?

Downtime and recovery of a liquid facelift is far less compared with a surgical facelift. For a liquid facelift, you expect to see some bruising, redness and swelling at the injection sites, but this should completely resolve by day 5 post treatment. There is no real downtime – you can choose to resume your normal daily life straight after your treatment.

How much does a liquid facelift cost?

This is a highly customised procedure and the cost of a liquid facelift will depend on the type of cosmetic injectables used and the amount used. We will provide you with a detailed quote at your consultation based on our assessment of which treatments are best for you and the results you wish to achieve.
